Seminar Synopsis
Technically, the seminar is about learning the theory, technology, and practice of High Visual Resolution Interpretation (HVRI). Practically, it is about learning the true nature of seismic and how to reveal its full potential.
Students will learn that:
-
The seismic they have is better than they think.
-
All the seismic they have worked with in their career contained vast amounts of unseen, critically important subsurface details
-
The projects they have worked on in the past may contain overlooked reserves that using HVRI become both interpretable and economic.
-
Interpretation, as it is currently practiced, takes too long, is harder than it should be, and produces drilling locations containing unacceptable and avoidable levels of risk
How is the Seminar Run?
-
This is an eight hour seminar encompassing both theory and hands on practice.
-
Students will be individually assigned a Microsoft Azure virtual machine preloaded with the latest StratiScape version and the projects used in the seminar.
-
Course sessions are two hours in length and can be scheduled to fit a company's agenda.
-
The seminar uses a variety of both 2D and 3D seismic from basins around the world.
